    Penny or Nickel

Im a size 9 in mens and i cant decide wether I want a penny or nickel.. Penny is cheaper and way more portiable as it fits in my bookbag, but nickel is faster, and safer..but also pricier, which should i choose?

I have a Penny "nickel" with a red deck, yellow trucks, and green wheels. I like it alot better compared to a penny.

The nickel is like a regular skateboard to skaters, and a penny is a new thing to skaters since it is a lot smaller compared to a regular skateboard.

how do you say the nickel is for crusing? i have a regular board but its cheap and it is pretty bad for cruising (like a crude example would be that 3 strong kicks get me riding for about 6 seconds), and i dont care about speed i just really want to cruise smoothly with little effort, and i know longboards are good for this but i cant afford them plus i really dont like the sizes

How cruising with a nickel for me is amazing, honestly im glad i got the nickel.  But the one problem for me is the wheels, idk what the material is for the wheel is like, but it seems rubber like. It tends to chip alot for me due to certain surfaces. But  it's very senstive and depending where u live and how the surface is on the street or sidewalk it all varies on how you ride with a nickel. If anything look up chipped wheels or something. But, i love the nickel, because its very unique compared to typical longboards. In Florida, longboards are the new trend and i try have something different.

And the kicking depends how hard u kick, it takes me 3 good kicks and i would be crusing at a normal speed.

And by the way, i tend to ride my nickel bare foot. I ride to the store bare foot, but since i put grip tape on my nickel, its a little to ride bare and i still ride bare foot. That would be my favorite feature on a Penny.

And if you do buy a nickel, buy it on this website, its cheaper compared to the price i paid for it. I got it as a birthday gift, so i didn't worry about the price. But my friend has a nickel, and what he did was he sanded his nickel to the point that it's the size of a regular Penny. I'm just giving u a heads up that u can do that if u want to, but that would be up to you to decide.

Oh and do you know how long the free shipping is? at the top of the nickel board page it says this item usually ships in one buisness day but when you go to checkout it says standard free shipping 5-8 days, so how long did it take you, (if you used free shipping)

Shippping took a whole week,(I live in Florida, not that far away) now its coming from orlando, i live in miami, its a 4 hour ride. I dont understand what the package will be doing for 3 days here in miami when it could just be brought to me today or tommorow once it gets here and is sorted out at FedEx.

I have a penny. I wear size 10 shoes. I love it. It take a couple hours to get used to, but once you do, it's a blast.

Both skateboards are perfectly fine for cruising. II would say that nickel is for bigger guys (or girls) and provide a little more stable ride (because it's bit bigger)

I say if your looking for cruising go with a full size board, a penny and nickel are both fun but I would go for the real deal!

I'm completly new to skating but i want to start, i started riding my friends penny sometimes and i like it, i would lik to have my own to ride it all the time, but  by cruising you mean going without kicking right? so what jind of surfaces chip the wheels? because that doesnt sound good at all, and it the nickel as easy to ride? (if you answer say it in a way someone who is brand new to skating would understand please)

You know if you are going to mostly just be crusing I would stay away from Penny boards, while they are small which makes them nice I think they get uncomfortable after any longer cruise/ride. In addition, the small board and wheel make it so you can get bumped off quite easy due to cracks and bumps.

In my opinion a nickle is a little bit better just becuase if it larger. At that point I would go with a full board and not penny/nickle.

For a good beginner cruiser check out some of the Sector 9 completes, with coupon code "crazy9" you can get 30% off of all completes.

Check out the Sector 9 Bamboo Snapper, http://www.socialskateboarding.com/p/sector-9-bamboo-snapper-complete875x34
MSRP on that board is $150 and you can get it for just over $100.

That's what I would recommend but that's me but you wont find that board any cheaper anywhere else even used.
